Beautiful Beach near Agnes Water in Gladstone Region Perfect for Water Sports
Tannum Sands is home to a beautiful beach on the Central Queensland Coast that is perfectly set up for those who enjoy outdoor water-based activities.
Located an hour north of Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy and just 20 minutes from Gladstone, the town is twinned with nearby Boyne Island. It is known as a place where the forest meets the sea, which makes it the perfect destination for relaxing under one of the many trees that flank its shoreline.
You can visit the beach and swim in this part of the Coral Sea all year round. But if you fancy doing something a little bit more exhilarating, jet-skiing, paddle-boarding, paragliding and windsurfing are all popular past-times that people from all over the Gladstone region come to do.
Just off the beach is the 20 km Turtleway Bikeway, which takes you between Tannum Sands and Boyne Island. It features parklands, playgrounds, barbecues, picnic tables, and fitness stations, providing you with everything you need to set yourself up for the day.
If you are into fishing, you might want to spare some time in your day to head to nearby Lake Awoonga, where you might be able to snare Big Barra and Mangrove Jack.
