Quick Guide to Archies Beach in Bargara

Popular surf and dog-walking beach near Bundaberg

Archies Beach Bargara in Bundaberg Region of Coral Coast

Archies Beach is situated right at the southern end of the Bargara Esplanade and makes a pleasant change of scene from the other beaches in the Bundaberg region.

Stretching for about 1 km, it is popular with dog owners whose four-legged friends enjoy exercising on the golden sand and the dark rocks that litter the shoreline. Surfers love it too as they get to ride some decent swell in its shimmering turquoise waters.

As the beach is unpatrolled and the water can be choppy, swimming is not recommended. However, if you are looking for a quieter sunbathing alternative to Bargara Beach, Kelly’s Beach or Neilson Beach, then you are sure to enjoy its idyllic serenity.

Where is Archies Beach?

Archies Beach is one of many beaches you can visit in Bargara. It can be accessed from Woongarra Scenic Drive which is not far from Bargara Beach and Kelly’s Beach.

The 1km beach starts just after Crawford Park, which is a lovely, shaded green space that has a nice picnic area.

It is also not far from the popular Archies Beach Lookout, which showcases tremendous views of the Coral Sea and Coral Coast.

Facilities and Amenities

You should find it easy enough to get free parking at Archies Beach. However, as the beach is not patrolled by lifeguards, and there are no toilet facilities in the immediate locality, you may not choose to spend too long there.

At the park, there is a children’s playground, barbecues and picnic tables, which provides a good place to relax during the heat of the day.

The main restaurants, hotel accommodation, and shops of Bargara are within easy walking distance.
