Hi! My name is Spencer and I’m an ex-pat Brit who has been living on the Sunshine Coast since 2005.

I love the beaches of Queensland and I want to help you make the most of your annual holiday, weekend getaway, day trip or backpacker travels to tourist destinations like the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Mackay Region, Cairns and Tropical North Queensland. Infact anywhere along the oceanfront of Qld!

Overall the Sunshine State has more than 1700 beaches around its coastline and while not all of them can be easily visited, there are many that are fantastic places to go for a beach holiday in Australia.

That is why I created Beach Scenes – to showcase the best Queensland holiday destinations. I have tried to do this through my beach reviews, hints, and suggestions of the best hotels to stay at and tours to go on.

Queensland is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with a coastline stretching over 7,400 kilometres (4,600 miles). That’s longer than the coastlines of California and Florida combined!

Known as the ‘Sunshine State’, it offers beach lovers over 1700 destinations. From the famous Surfer’s Paradise on the Gold Coast and thriving Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast to the beautiful islands of the Whitsundays and the lush, rainforest-backed coastal landscape of Cape Tribulation in Far North Queensland, there is a beach in Queensland to suit all preferences.
